My name is Agnes.
I’ve been running Warsaw tours since 2009. I love sharing my passion and knowledge in front of a group of people.
I know Warsaw since I was born!

My name is Agnes – in Polish it’s Agnieszka – but I prefer diminutives (there are plenty in Polish). In English it’s Aggie. In primary school I was called Anne of Green Gables (because of my reddish hair and freckles)

In Poland the guiding profession is not regulated by the law – it means that everybody could be a guide. Some leave their learned profession and this was my way – I graduated the Academy of Physical Education at the Phisiotherapy Faculty. But I prefer guiding.

Warsaw is a demanding city – you have to learn it all the time. Every year I discover something new, because I really ‘like to know’. That is why I can also show you around different museums – the National Museum, the Royal Castle, the Museum of the Cold War and even the National Stadium, among others.

The most common question you ask during tours: does you work anywhere else besides guiding? The answer is no. I only work as a guide and I love my job very much.

I’m a candy and a chocolate lover. The best candy for me is Warsaw „Pańska skórka” (literal translation ‘maiden crust’) – a hard and a very sweet pink-white candy, sold mainly in front of Warsaw …..cemeteries. The best chocolate is from Wedel – absolutely the tastiest Polish factory. Have you ever drunk hot Wedel chocolate? It’s a must during my tours.

I love crime fiction. The best author for me is Agatha Christie. I admire David Suchet as Hercule Poirot and prefer Geraldine McEvan as Miss Marple. I enjoy watching ‘Vera’ (isn’t she amazing?) and ‘Murders in Midsomer’ (but only with John Nettles as Detective Tom Barnaby). I also enjoy re-reading the Perry Mason stories written by E.S. Gardner.

The most iconic Warsaw places for me? It changed. When I was a kid – the Mermaid Monument in the Old Town, when I was a teenager – the Palace of Culture, now (when I’m in the middle age :)) – the Norblin Factory. Where are these places? Do contact me – I will show you them and many more.
